IPhone Dopes in Cell

Two thieving truckers heisted 300 Hong Kong-bound iPhones they were transporting to Kennedy Airport, and then stuffed the empty boxes with shredded paper in a ruse that fooled New York authorities but was quickly figured out in China, authorities said yesterday.

The Long Island dumbfellas, who went on a wild shopping spree with the more than $80,000 they got for the phones, had planned to “move to Florida today with their big score,” driving down in matching used cars bought with the ill-gotten gains, said Nassau County Detective Lt. John Azzata.

“We immediately went on a spending spree and we were dumb,” one of the suspects told cops after the dopey duo was arrested.
