Colors issue 73: Money makes the world go round

The latest issue of Colors is based on a US$100 note. Colors had the note analysed in a lab and used the detected substances - including oil, blood and ash - to tell the story of the role money plays in various countries and cultures around the world.

Slightly tricky to navigate - you have to click on each of the ’stains’ on the note to view each feature - the entire issue is nonetheless available as a FREE download in PDF form.

Paul Nchape-Sankau, an elder Kenyan Tribesman, is standing amid goat droppings half-a-day’s walk from the nearest electricity, paved road or gasoline pump, buying a cow with his mobile phone.
